The Clausius equation of state, proposed in 1880 by Rudolf Julius Emanuel Clausius [1] is given by (Equations 3 and 4 in [2])

[p+aT(v+c)2](v−b)=RT.

At the critical point one has ∂p∂v|T=Tc=0, and ∂2p∂v2|T=Tc=0, which leads to

a=vc−RTc4Pc
b=3RTc8Pc−vc

and

c=27R2Tc264Pc

where p is the pressure, T is the temperature, v is the volume per mol, and R is the molar gas constant. Tc is the critical temperature and Pc is the pressure at the critical point, and vc is the critical volume per mol.
