The Hamiltonian is given by

$H(q,p,t)={\dot {q_{i}}}p_{i}-L(q,{\dot {q}},t)$

where $q_{i}$ are the generalised coordinates, $p_{i}$ are the canonical momentum, and L is the Lagrangian.
