The ideal gas equation of state, developed by Benoît Paul Émile Clapeyron in 1834 [1] is given by:

  • is the pressure
  • is the volume
  • is the number of molecules
  • is the number of moles
  • is the absolute temperature
  • is the Boltzmann constant
  • is the molar gas constant.
