Gaussian distribution

The Gaussian distribution (also known as the normal distribution) is given by:

P(x) = \frac{1}{\sigma \sqrt{2 \pi}} \exp \left( \frac{-(x -\mu)^2}{2 \sigma ^2} \right)

where μ is the mean and σ2 is the variance.
