Alpha shape

An α shape of a set of points is given by the subset of points that are reached when "scooping out" portions of space with a certain spoon whose radius is given by the parameter α (depending on the convention, α can be the squared radius of the scoop, or its inverse). These shapes are closely related to Delaunay simplexes.
