Solid-liquid phase transitions

In a fluid, solid-liquid phase transitions are thought of as being governed mainly by entropy. This is supported by the existence of a Fluid-solid_transition in the hard-sphere model, and the transition being not being chiefly dependent on the density, not so much on the temperature.
